Can I export/import staff records from one Company into another

Hi Kristian
Yes - (top menu) file>utilities>export>lists IIF> then chose the lists you want to export & save to your computer - open new file & do the same but 'import' from the location you saved them to on your PC. - with staff records you will need to take the payroll items as well2 -

Forgot to mention this will give you the staff files & payroll items it will not give you balances or previous pays, it will only give you the list of employees and their pay details, there will be no YTD figures or entitlements. If it is part way through a year you are doing a new file you can either have 2 payroll summaries, one from each file or you can enter amounts into new file.
You will have to add entitlements in the new file for the staff manually in each employee0 -
Hi Kristian,
Just letting you know also that many fields do not import correctly. I.e. employment start date, pay rates, leave, super, etc. So you need to check each record carefully after importing to fix up any missing details.
If you also import the payroll items this can cause issues with duplicates, etc, and it doesn't set up the overtime payroll items correctly.
So although the short answer is yes, in fact there are a lot of errors in doing this!
