instal of personal plus 2020 fails

instal of personal plus 2020 on win 10 fails with exit code 1603  part way through instal.
Originally had problems uninstalling pp 2019 and used revo as per communnity .
tried fixes suggested with 1603 failures from previous years and still no luck . Went back to try and instal 2019 and again got exit code 1603 failure . so now it seems I have 16 plus years of financial data hanging in limbo and no way to access it , oh and have paid $170 for the pleasure . Surely there has to be a way fix this , even if it involves listing every single file associated with this program and deleting it . hopefully someone can give me some help here .thanks

    If you have a restore point, you may be able to at least restore previous working RPP?

    yup went back to the restore point before created by revo pro , Rolled back , then tried to open rpp 2019, and got error message corrupted file . Just goes from bad to worse . the ausisie consumer laws and fit for purpose come to mind, because this obviously isn't , just have to look at all the problems in this community, not just the rpp but other business programs from this company seem to be riddled with problems. Most well written soft ware has a repair function , why not this one ?

    Sorry, not sure if I understood your reply. I was referring to the Windows 10 restore point before you used Revo Pro and when RPP was last working.

    sorry if I was unclear, I did what you are referring to and then when I tried to start RPP got error message "your program files have been corrupted , you will have to reinstal." which of course I cannot do because of the error mesaage in my  post re invalid drive . Will try a rollback to an even earlier point and see how it goes . Thanks for your input , it is much appreciated .

    You will get this error if for whatever reason your computer could not access the folder on the installation disk that contains the setup file.  

    To fix this, when the autorun screen appears, close it.  Then in Windows Explorer browse to the disk’s HAB > DISK1 folder and double click on setup.exe. Accounts Personal / Quicken will now install. unquote.

    I'm not convinced about will now install part, but in your case give anything a try before you have to take a more drastic action.

    thanks, tried the HAB work around earlier in the peace , Have tried install from new download , HAB folder and win temp folder , plus tried unpacking installer to another drive. Seems there are some pesky files left over somewhere and it affects everymove I try to make . Only option left is try and install the new RPP 2020 on my laptop which hasn't seen any Reckon products , hopefully that will work and I can at least use the product while I try and dig out all the old bits from the original instal computer (or do a complete reinstall of win 10 ). Tried roll back to a much earlier time but as stated above only get message" files damaged, (not data ) reinstall "but cannot do that because it keeps seeing remnants of old install somewhere., and so it goes around. Tried the revo product again but reckon is not in the list of programs available to be uninstalled and the hunter function cannot find anything to latch onto.

    re ran revo , can get the RPP installer running but craps out like before with error exit code 1603 . So back to square one. If any one at reckon or any where else, knows of a sure fire way of getting around this would be pleased to hear from you Anyone actually know what exit code 1603 actually means ?

    I find the Reckon support hopeless. You get no phone help for your annual fee. I had to reinstall person plus 2019 on a new computer to be able to use it. Now I have the same problem with my 2020 renewal. I have downloaded the program but still it won't open. I will definitely after 12 years using the product be migrating to a different accounting software. Support for this programme is HOPELESS. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.  ZERO STARS.
