Open new file using older version

Hi is it possible  to open a  AE: Manufacturing and Wholesale Edition 2019file using AE Accountant Edition 2016 . Thank you

    Pretty sure that’s a no, don’t know if accountant edition has any special qualities but normally no

    no datafiles are backwards compatible - once upgraded to 2019 - can only be opened with 2019...but 2019 Accountants Edition can open 2019 Manufacturing and Wholesale

    Hi Linda. Have read your posts with a lot of interest and they have been most helpful. In summary do I pay the BAS as usual and then does the ATO automatically send through the $10000. John

    The credit will come off your BAS, so only pay the balance if there is one. If there is any credit left they may transfer it into your bank if your bank details are on record, or in some cases it just sits in your account to be offset against the next BAS. I have seen it happen both ways.

    There are many ways this can be handled, I enter a bill for my bas and then enter a minus for the total to the account of Government Subsidy. This will be a new account setup as Other Income. The bill is then Zero. If the balance is refunded, as is often the case, just do a deposit to Government subsidy. The balance in that account should then be 10,000
