Exporting & Importing lists to new company

Hi. I have set up a new company as we have had a change of ABN. I have exported & imported all my lists - COA, customer, item, employee etc. All of themimported to the new comapny successfully except the Supplier List. For some reason it has only imported a very small portion of my suppliers. When I open the IIF file in excel, they are all there, but the IIF file only imports a few. There are some characters in suppliers' names such as ( ) e.g as in (Aust), / e.g for P/L, but so does my customer list and that imported perfectly. Does anyone have any ideas why my full supplier list wouldn't be importing please? Sue

Could it be something to do with this Reckon limit of 14500 I've heard about? I've only got 1000 suppliers and about double that for customers, do I need to consider my item list and all the others? It's odd, beacause it imports all suppliers for letter 'A', then 2 for 'B', a couple for M, P W? No rhyme nor reason.

Hi Sue,
If you could send me the IIF file to my email at phuong@cactussoftware.com.au, I can have a look and find out why it doesn't work for you.

Thank you Gerry for your advice. I am pleased to report Phuong kindly sorted my problem for me very quickly. I am 'up-and-running'.

Phuong, can you share what was the issue causing the list import to behave strangely?

We don't know the real issue, but when we tried to import the full IIF file (which has more than 1 thousand records), Reckon just crashed. But if we imported a small batch (ie 20-25 records), the import worked well.
So Sue ends up editing the IIF file to import a few records at a time. It is not ideal but since it is one off process and the volume is not very big, she was able to import all of them in less than 30 minutes.
It only happened only with her PC, I was able to import the whole file on my PC.

Thanks Phuong.
At least this is a process that others similarly affected can perform.
