Manual Download not recognising minus sign

After accepting that the Bank feed just wont work reliably despite multiple hours of lost time talking to multiple support people with minimal outcomes, I have rwsigned myself to manual uploads to find when I upload the CSV files they are recording all withdrawald from the account as deposits (doesnt seem to recognise a minus sign (-)
Has anyone else found this or does anyone know how I can fix this?
