Change of Email address/Login in new Reckon Payroll App (not STP)

Hi Reckon Staff,

How do we change email address in new Payroll App pls ?

This email address is also what we use in logging in.

  1. Once email address is changed , does this mean the log in details is automatically changed/updated ?
  2. What about the password ; would this be the same ?

    @Trinity Hello. It is a question that Reckon support staff will have to answer. I did notice there is a process to change the email id usingg the App company settings. But it seems you have already seen it and hence your questions. It seems if you had the Premium Payroll app you could have made the change using the web payroll version. But this feature is not available in Basic (Free) Payroll app.

    If you'd like to change the login credentials for your Payroll App account you can do so by following the steps below -

    • Logout of your Payroll App account (use the Sign Out option in the Settings section)
    • Head over to https://portal.reckon.com/ and sign in with your current Payroll App account credentials
    • Click on the 'Profile' icon in the top right corner
    • Edit your email address and/or password here and save any changes
    • Login to the Payroll App using your new email address/password

    @Rav I believe the process suggested of using the reckon portal website will only work if one has the Premium Reckon app. Please suggest otherwise.

    Hi @swakhlu01 .

    Logging into your account via the Portal (https://portal.reckon.com/) is accessible to anyone regardless of the plan tier you're on. (Note, this is separate to Payroll App web access which is at https://payroll.reckon.com/)

    For some context, the Portal is the front end of the 'infrastructure' that your Payroll app account and our other new-gen cloud based services eg. Reckon One, GovConnect, BetterHQ, BetterClinics etc are built to reside in.

    Hi @Rav Thanks for clarifying this. Definitely a different web portal than what I thought. Apologies for not checking prior. Have not seen this URL publicised much in context of the Payroll app user help documentation and FAQs Perhaps something that can be captured there. 😀

    Yes you're right about that for sure and I think the reason for that is because its not the most 'convenient' experience for a user of one of our mobile apps. The Portal should really only be used for updating account details for a Payroll App (or former STP app) user but at times has led to confusion because there are other cloud services that live in the Portal and folks can get a bit lost as to the purpose of the Portal.

    Ideally everything can and should be done within the Payroll app itself, that's something we'll need to work towards. I raised this in a meeting yesterday and while its on the radar its a fairly complex sort of undertaking from what I understand.
