How do you move super from default account to employee's SMSF fund in the new Reckon Payroll?

    Hi Pia

You can change the super fund that an employee is assigned to by going into their profile ➡️ Superannuation ➡️ Edit ➡️ Add Super Details

If the super fund hasn't been created yet, then you'll need to do that first and I'll link a quick how-to below on this -

    Hi Rav

The current pays in the new payroll are correct, it's the year to date that migrated from Payroll Premier that shows as a default fund

    Right ok, thanks Pia.

If I'm understanding correctly, then I think it should be a relatively straightforward way to solve but let me know if it works for you.

Click into the Super Guarantee component that appears in the initial YTD section. Remove the Default Super Fund from that menu and enter in the correct fund product instead then click Done.

I've created a quick screen recording that hopefully illustrates what I'm referring to below -

I've tried that as well, but it wont bring up the SMSF in the Fund Product drop down. I've just spoken to Reckon and they told me it doesn't matter as it will still be allocated to the correct fund??

    Hi Pia

Does the SMSF exist in Reckon Payroll at the moment? ie if you go to Settings ➡️ Superannuation Funds, does that particular SMSF exist in the list?

If not, please create it first. Click on Create Superannuation Fund, select Self Managed and then complete the additional info.

Once that has been done, I believe it should appear in the list for you to select but let me know if that's not the case.

SMSF already exists in the Super Fund list with the employees initials against the fund. The default fund does not have any employee initials but yet under the year to date for the employee the super is in the default fund.

    Hi Pia

I've been speaking with the product devs in relation to the situation you've outlined and the recommendation at this stage is to leave the migrated super balance that is in the initial YTD section to the default system super fund for now.

There's a fair bit of work going on in the background on SMSF's in Reckon Payroll at the moment but we've got still got a little way to go on this.

Apologies for the confusion around this. I'll keep you posted with any new info on this areas as soon as I receive it from the team.
