Restoring Back Up on Reckon Home and Business 2015

Hi there,

I have opened up my accounts and noticed that one of my main chart of accounts (with many transactions for the last 6 years) is not showing in the Account List. So, I backed up the data as at today (so I don't lose all the data entered up to today) and then restored old back ups (up to 3 months ago) to determine at what point the account actually dropped out of thr Account List. However, having restored and opening up old back ups (by going to the "File" tab and "Open" and finding the back up file on the desktop) I'm now not sure how to access my latest file as at today. I therefore had a few questions:

  1. When you restore a back up, does the backed up version now supersede/override the version in the system prior to the back up?
  2. If this is the case, then is the easiest way to access my data today as at today to simply restore the back up I did today?
  3. From the old backed up files, I can see that there are about 650 transactions in the deleted account that are now not in the latest file (as the account was deleted). Is there any way to import that one account (sitting in the old back up) into the latest backed up version as at today (which does not have that account in it). the only way I can think about doing this is by taking photos of the 650 transactions sitting in the old back up copy and re-entering them in manually into the latest file (ie: as at today).

Thank you in advance for any assistance/advice

Steven

This is usually a case of opening or restoring the wrong data file, give me a call and we can sort it.
