I am really alarmed that last week I received a call and email from Rajesh Maharjan stating that I am misusing Reckon Hosted. I have been using Reckon for 25 Years and do the Accounting for the small family Business Companies

The email says I have 30 days to resolve this, but I have no idea what they are talking about and do not receive replays to my emails , and all calls go unanswered.

This is extremely alarming.

Has anyone else had this happen, and who do I contact to actually get a response.

    Hi @JennyOrbie

I'm not quite sure what that email is about but let me get some contact organised for you so the team can have a conversation with you around this.

    Hi Jenny

I know how stressful this is it happened to me last week. It seems to be a sales tactic to change users from Reckon Accounts Hosted to Reckon One where they charge on a per entity basis. I was told that we have been misusing it as well. We have used RAH for some time. We have several business entities and pay on a per user basis. We have always increased/decreased our subscription depending on the amount of people in our accounts team. The salesman was very unclear about the rules constantly pressuring to switch to Reckon One and he would look after us with the pricing. I asked for specifics about what we were doing wrong and he pointed out one line in the terms and conditions which refers to only using the software for one entity. He said it has always been that way but RAH's point of difference in the market was always charging per user not entity – it is still in their current marketing material. I asked to be contacted by management after sending him snapshots of the RAH marketing material which highlights the multiple entity/one user licence scenario and advising that we have been assisted by Reckon to migrate our files on several occasions and no concerns were raised concerns about the number of entities we have. I have not heard from them again. We have wasted hours going back into our records for quotes & agreements. It’s really disappointing, if they need to change their pricing they should just be honest. It was also worrying that he said that Reckon aren't focusing on RAH any more so I'm assuming that means the product will be discontinued.

Thanks so much. Yes, that is exactly what he was telling me to do.

It would be great if someone from Reckon would reply. If not I will be sending these details to Fair Trading Ombudsman

I have had a response from another Hosted user that they have also been told they are misusing Reckon Hosted and should swap to Reckon One

I was contacted by Rajesh today too. Same nonsense claiming I am only allowed one company file and I am in breach of the licensing terms. I have been using Reckon since early 2000's in the desktop version. I cannot see anywhere in the license that states you can only have one company file. That is the reason I never used MYOB.

I am worried that Reckon might be thinking about changing their licensing terms in the future and I will need to look for new software.
