Doing a reinvestment plan transaction when 0 shares are issued

Hi All
What is the best way to enter a reinvestment plan dividend when the final amount is not enough to purchase a share.
Should I just enter an income and then remember to draw the next one from my investment cash account (is that what the reinvestment function actually does?)
