Hi. Have just paid the money and upgraded from 2022 to V31. Has installed but on launch immediately shuts down. Running Windows 11 home, build 26100.7171

Did you uninstall your old version of Reckon prior to installing V31?

    Hi @BettyP,

Could you please locate the executable file by right clicking on your short cut and selecting Open File location.

Once you have done that right click, select properties > compatibility > enable compatibility mode > run in Windows 8.

Let me know if that works for you.

    Thank you.

Betty, you're probably trying to open it from an existing shortcut icon. Open it from the full Programs menu

Windows 8..? Why are you suggesting this when v31 is compatible with Windows 11?

    Hi @Eric Murphy,

I do understand that Windows 11 is compatible for the software, but it can be used to resolve potential issues like this when the program does not want to open.

I have used this in many instances not just for the Personal range but Reckon Accounts Enterprise desktop version as well.

    Respectfully I disagree @Lucas

It doesn't sound like you know what the problem is at this point and just going to a long, long deprecated version of Windows isn't the answer.

Hi Lucas - no, it did not. And I have tried opening it direct from the program icon - someone else's suggestion. The opening logo is visible for a while, then I can see the program shut down.

thanks Gerry - I will keep you in mind, but I do think Reckon has a responsibility to make sure the program can install.

    Hi @BettyP,

Do you perhaps have an antivirus software that may need to make the software an exception to the firewall?

That could also be a possibility as well.

I just want to confirm, you open the Personal range software and it forcefully closes after opening or only displays for a split second?

The software does install, that much is clear since the .exe is on your PC. The issue is launching it.

I'd suggest you get in touch with Gerry, he works miracles from what I've seen here on the community

Thanks for the prompt responses, and your help. Yes, it seemed to be the firewall. I allowed access, restarted and then it worked. But still very complicated, tbh.

    Hi @BettyP,

Usually we recommend changing the compatibility on how the file opens or the firewall can block it from opening. We do apologise for this frustration but in most cases this is what causes the problem.

    Thank you.
