ReckonAccounts has experienced a problem and must be shut down

When trying to edit a cheque this shut down message appears and I can't open to view or edit, delete or void in anyway without this message coming up.  How can I fix this or edit this cheque?

    Hi Tracey,

    Please try to delete the cheque from the bank registry. Go to List > Chart of accounts. Then double click the bank account.

    Highlight the cheque, do not open it, then press Ctrl + D to delete. Once deleted, you will need to recreate it again.
