Hi. I'm purchasing 200L drums of liquid (buying per drum) and transferring this into 20L pails to sell per pail. Can you please tell me how I set this up using Inverntory part/ assembly? Thank you.

    Hi you have to set up the 20 Lt pails in inventory assembly.
    In the inventory assembly you have to set up it uses .10 of the 20 Lt drum
    You then have to build that item.

    Or you could simply use units of measure.

    Yes but if you buy in 20 lt pails & need to take from inventory you would have to use the build section

    No units of measure will take our of inventory also.

    If you take a 200l drum as a unit at say $200.  ($1.00/litre - I assume you are not doing it per lite but the same principles apply.  And pails cost say $5.00 and you might factor in a labour charge even (you can set up Labour Units as a non-inventory item with a cost).  Labels - if a cost include these.

    Then your assembly would be;
    0.1 - X DRUM OF PRODUCT ($200 X0.1 = $20.00
    1 X 20litre pail and lid  @ $5.00 per pail
    (again if you buy the lids separately you might want to have a separate line for the lid.
    Label - 1 @ $1.00
    Labour 1 @ $1.50
    This is a unit labour rate but You could set up as an hourly rate and if you can pack 10 x 20l in an hour then use 0.1 of the LABOUR item

    This way every time you do a build the correct cost is picked up and also the components are reduced in inventory
    e.g. -1 x 200l drum
    -10 x 20litre pails and lids
     - 10 labels

    We use it all the time and it works pretty well.
