how to successfully unsubscribe/ STOP SPAM?

3 years on, countless unsubscribes, RECKON still spams me

    I left Reckon 3 years ago - underwhelming products compared to other market offerings.  Unsubscribed from every email tehy sent me.  Hear nothing for a year now, and BOOM! its suddenly IMPORTANT that I update my reckon mobile app.  WHY?  I DON'T HAVE RECKON.  What loser thought it would be a good idea to spam me.  WHat loser in Reckon thought it'd be OK to misuse my private data that clearly reckon still thinks they own?

    There is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email which you can use to remove yourself from any and all distribution lists.

    ahahaha i have previously tried that - english is indeed my first language - i tried it 3 years ago, now it seems that my unsubscribe request is being disregarded for some reason.

    Maybe I should rephrase the question "Why is Reckon still spamming me despite having previously clicked on the 'unsubscribe' link?

    alternatively, please provide the name and contact details of Reckons privacy officer so I can ensure that my details are deleted, and explain to them that sending spam to a former subscriber after they have unsubscribed is a federal crime in Australia, and is punishable by large fines or imprisonment.

    when i said 'countless unsubscribes' I meant that I had clicked on this link previously. imagess

    Did you also remove yourself from all lists that are presented after clicking 'Unsubscribe'? (example screenshot below)

    If you have, then can you please confirm if the email address you are receiving these on is the same as the registered email address used for your Community account?

    what do you think? i should have made a video of my doing it in 2014 after receiving a stupid number of spams from Reckon (NINE of them at once, suggesting that I pay for Reckon training) , just so I could stop these level 1 dunce replies that I am getting right now.

    Heres a thought: i have not received ANY correspondence from Reckon for 3 years, do you think that maybe I managed to successfully unsubscribe back then, and that maybe reckon has chosen to resubscribe me, thus breaking the law?

    Hi Frank,

    I've asked our Marketing team to check the same email address registered on your Community account to ensure you are unsubscribed from all communication. There were no results on this particular email address.

    Can you please confirm the correct email address in question by getting in touch with me at [email protected]

    I implore anyone who has received spam from reckon after unsubscribing to lodge a formal complaint with the federal govt department that administers the spam laws.

    also, from the ACMA website: "If you receive a marketing email that you think may not comply with the Spam Act, you can report it to the ACMA’s Spam Intelligence Database by forwarding the message to [email protected].

    Still haven't received your confirmation on the correct email address as per my last two posts to you.

    We've already checked the email address registered against your Reckon Community account and that one isn't on any distribution lists so I have to assume it's a different email address entirely.

    I'm happy to help getting whatever other email addresses you have removed from our list but you'll need to meet me halfway and let me know what that is.
