This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled I'm trying to open 2017 hosted and it's aying that 2016 cannot open my file becau.... I select 2017 hosted version but then get an error to say that the 2016 version cannot open my file as it has been updated to a newer version. It seems that the 2017 selection is running the 2016 version. This has only happened as of today.
Can I please get you to head into the Hosted control panel and end any of the active sessions located in there. Once that is done, logout (use the logout option NOT just close the tab or browser).
Once you've logged out, close the browser and then try again.
Spoke to Support about this Kev, the most common cause is that the session is not being closed properly by going through File > Exit. In most cases, the tab or the browser is just closed which keeps the session hanging in the background. The upgrade to 2017 then occurs and brings up the hanging session. Ending that session will log it off completely from the session host.
