Welcome to the Reckon Community D3600,
That's an unusual problem for our products and the message has been associated with other Microsoft errors.
Are you able to provide more information about it?
What is the full error message? A screen shot will help.
What operating system is your PC?
Is the datafile on this PC or on a network location?
Have you ever used this installation of Payroll Premier successfully?
Has there been any change to your computer environment between the last successful use and this event? eg Windows Update; installation of another programme; etc.
regards,

Hi John
Installed and working fine but once closed and reopened, it keeps coming up with “bad image qpv26.exe” and program will not open. Message says….
C:\Windows\system32\c4clax.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000020.
Once I press ok it will come up with the following messages…
C:\Windows\system32\c4dosx.dll
C:\Windows\system32\c4ascx.dll
Running windows 10 Home Version 1607. Data file is on the PC in question. Uninstalled and reinstalled and error keeps appearing. This message also occurred recently with version 16/17. Windows has been trying to update to version 1703 for the last month but keeps failing.

Thanks D36000.
Sounds like the attempt to update your Windows has corrupted the dll files referred to in the message.
As your Windows Update is failing you should remove it. Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete all the files there.
(you may need to stop some services - see a generic video guide at Clear Windows Update Cache and Fix Windows Updates or see your IT consultant).
Then uninstall and reinstall Payroll Premier, activate it and test that it opens and closes properly a few times.
You can then request the Windows Updates - In the Search box type update and select "check for Updates" and then click on Check for updates button and follow the prompts.
If you need any help please see your IT consultant.
Hope this helps.
regards,
John0
