Copy & Paste popup box

In Reckon Hosted is there logic behind adding this pop-up in when trying to copy & paste within journals etc other than to drive people crazy? How do I turn it off as it is a huge time waster.image

    Hi Leanne - the only time you need to use the tool box pop up is when you want to copy and paste between your own desktop and the hosted environment... if you are just doing a copy and paste within Reckon while entering journals - then just use the CtrL+X, C, V keys as you normally would.  Cheers Linda

    Hi Linda - I undertstand what the aim of it is and what it is for but the problem is when I do control C this box pops up so I have to close it before I can control V. When processing long journals etc with a lot of copying and pasting it is very frustrating and time consuming not to mention you lose your rhythm each time because you have to use your mouse to do it. I'm hoping there is a preference you can change to turn it off?

    Hi Leanne.  Yes there is a preference that you can use.  Instead of using the browser that you are using, switch to Internet Explorer 11 and no longer will you have to put up with this annoyance.  Not only that, but you might find some other things, such as the old shortcuts which we once used, also work again.  I switched over about three months ago and am extremely happy with the move.  The only issue that I seem to have is that Explorer seems to be a bit more clunky and a little bit slower, but that is a minor inconvenience when compared to the benefits.

    Thanks John I will give that a go and see what difference I notice. Funnily enough after I posted this on here my Reckon dropped out while I was using it and when it came back on the pop up had stopped coming up. A bit strange but I'm not complaining for now. I'm sure it will come back as quick as it left so I will give Explorer 11 a go and see how I go. Thanks again.

    Its a pity we have to go through explorer 11 and lose speed over functionality.  I too was really annoyed over the copy and paste and it wasnt only to desktop from Hosted it was even if I wanted to copy from one line to another within the programme.  Thanks John

    I am using Chrome and had this problem for a couple of months and then it stopped and has just started again.  I have been unable to use Internet Explorer 11 so have just had to put up with it, but I think I would be very frustrated over loss of speed also.

    Kerrie, the loss of speed in my experience is very small, but can at times be noticed as a very slight lag.  I have assumed that it is something to do with Explorer, rather than anything else, as I cannot recall having the same experience in other browsers.

    Thank you John, I have tried other browsers (spent the best part of a day trying) and the pop up is still a problem, I have also not been able to use internet explorer because our virus protection would not allow it and I will not override this as of past experience with viruses.  Chrome works well for us with everything else and at the moment I'm too busy to work this out, it is quicker for me to just re-type everything.

    Have you tried Opera - I use it everyday for Hosted and never have this issue?

    That's exactly where I find it the worst...copying lines within a journal, not onto my desktop.

    It's been frustrating me too! It only started recently for me on internal copying & pasting.

    I tried to log in and use Hosted through Internet Explorer and have not had success :(
    The screen just keeps hanging. Any suggestions?

    Hi Aleisha.  I have occasionally experienced that too, but have usually got on by following the steps of logging out using the control panel, shutting down the browser and starting again.  I did have one day a couple of weeks ago where I just could not logon using IE11 and I had to go back to Chrome for a brief period of time.  This could have been during one of those days where there were other Reckon issues evident across the system.
