Error making employee inactive

I am trying to make one of my employees inactive on the Employee page but get the error message:
The contact is used in transaction rules and can't be set to inactive
What is this transaction rule?

    You can check your transaction rules in the online banking centre.  It may be that you can remove it there?

    OK - yes he has a rule because he donates regularly.
    I just want to make him inactive as an employee so Reckon doesn't generate a pay record for him each fortnight.
    Is this possible?

    I've never used rules before so I'm not sure, sorry.  It may be that you will have to delete the rule for the employee and then make him inactive, then set it back up again when the employee becomes active again?.  Sorry I can't be more help.
