    Hi Adele

    Normally when you end a session in Reckon Accounts you are first prompted to do a check of you company file then you are asked if you want to back up the file.

    Otherwise when you are in the program click File in the Top Menu Bar then in the dropdown list select Utilities then you will see Rebuild Data on the fifth item on the list.

    Thanks Robert, I am trying to back up to a thumb drive for my accountant.  I'm worried about rebuilding and losing data!!

    Hi Adele

    Doing a rebuild finds any errors in your data file and repairs them so that when you do your backup you aren't saving the errors as well. Where do you normally store your company file and its backups? I don't think a USB Thumbdrive is the best place.

    Once you have created the backup you can then just copy the backup file to the thumbdrive you are sending to your accountant.
