VERSION 7 - Wiped Computer HELP

Hi, a client of ours has had his computer wiped and has a backup of the old version 7 file of quickbooks. He no longer has acess to a computer to retrive his data. We have download the 2007/2008 quickbooks trial version and still un able to open his quickbook files we are seeing error 800 404 36 we urgently need some assistance with this to acess his data. Client is now retired and no longer needs rekon/quickbooks software but does need his old data to finalize his tax return, please HELP.
