Objective is to have my small business STP compliant etc and up to date. On 03 Sep 2020 submitted two pays covering period 6-19 July and 20 July- 2 August and notified by ATO - Error Message  - 'Date must not be a future date'. Same message received for both pay events.
Would appreciate advice on this. Thanks.....

    Hi Brian

The pay period dates are irrelevant - STP is based on actual Pay(ment) dates.

The error message sounds like the Pays themselves were all future-dated (eg after 03/09/20) ?

Edit the Paycheques to the correct date that you paid them, then re-generate & submit the new STP file.

(Note: This will still be a normal Pay Event submission, NOT a “Full File Replacement” or “Update Event” – Those options are only to override a previous successfully lodged submission)

    Hi Shaz

Thanks for your reply  - much appreciated. The issue remains unresolved and still getting the same error message from the ATO.

Both Reckon support and the ATO are looking at it. The ATO initial contact has escalated  the problem and I should hear back from them within a few days.

    Cheers
    Brian.

    Hi Brian

Oh dear … had hoped it was sorted – I must say I’ve not seen that particular error message before.

One other thing that has come to mind which is a strong possibility …..

    Check your computer’s date format!

(right click on the time displayed in bottom right & follow the prompts to check/change if applicable)

It may be that it’s set to US format which - when transposed – reads as a later date (in the future).

I have this same issue. I had 2 pay weeks with this error message, then 2 worked fine, but the next 3 had the message. I called the ATO who said it is likely a Reckon issue.
