Hi Rav

I like the idea of this new Forum however I'm having a few issues ....

  • Like John G, I also wasn't able to choose the " ... Community" category to post in as it was one of several that are greyed out ...?
  • Whilst my User Name has been retained, when I go in to "Edit Username" it says it's not the right format & needs to be changed but .... it's greyed out so I can't change it !?
  • I don't have the option to comment on any posts.  I saw your suggestion to critters222 Re: verification but I've not received the email for this & the verification option image that you showed isn't visible anywhere either!?

    My email address & website links in my signature don't work either .... How do I fix that ?

    (It appears I can comment now ... well, on this post anyway ?)

    Great to see you on the new Community! 🙂

    Yes there are a couple of categories that are in read-only access but I've opened up the 'About Reckon Community' category to gain feedback like this so I can make some changes/improvements particularly in the early stages of the new platform. If you refresh, it should be open for you now to add a post in that category as well and I'll also move this post from there as well.


    Whilst my User Name has been retained, when I go in to "Edit Username" it says it's not the right format & needs to be changed but .... it's greyed out so I can't change it !?

    Unfortunately, this one has me a bit stumped at the moment because it was working correctly in testing so I'm getting that looked into at the moment. If you can let me know what username you'd like though, I should be able to update it for you manually. It just needs to be unique, only contain letters, numbers, underscores, and must be between 3 and 20 characters long.


    I don't have the option to comment on any posts. I saw your suggestion to critters222 Re: verification but I've not received the email for this & the verification option image that you showed isn't visible anywhere either!?

    Looks like your ability to comment/post is working now so that's good 😊


    I've fixed up the link in your Signature, it just needed the https:// added to the start of the URL but I can see that your email address link isn't opening the mailto: like normal. I'll get that looked into.

    • Hi @Rav , is the signature setting for just special users or anyone can have it? The reason I ask this is because I don't have an option to change my signature, it said "You don't have permission to use a signature."

    @Kris_Williams It's just an automated way of adding your details to anything you comment on or post  (I used to have to copy & paste from Word every time but now it's automatic! 😊

    (Unfortunately, it now means all my previous posts also include the automated signature so they all have it on twice now! 😩 )

    Yes I see what you mean, all of your business and contact details. I knew what a signature was in Outlook but thought it may have been something different

    I'm having a few issues with attachments - it's inserted an extra large image on one post & on another it's duplicated an image & when I try to edit, I'm unable to & get this message pop up (!?) :

    (It's inserted this one with no issues but it seems to be difficult to edit or remove one once posted - It creates a box around the image but there's no way to select/delete it & backspace just reloads the page! 😩)

    @Rav Have just used the Bullet List feature on a reply just now & there are some formatting issues with this feature too ... It doesn't allow any further text formatting (eg Bold, Italic etc) within the lists & also has trouble with paragraph sizing & backspace/deleting some characters ? 😫

    Shaz, unless I've misunderstood your post, I haven't had the same problems.

    • I've got bold
    • I can get italics

    all i did was use ctrl + b/Ctrl + i after I had created the bulleted lists

    Just to clarify Shaz, when you create the bullet point list, then highlight the text you want to format, a lightbox should normally appear allowing you to do so. Is this appearing for you? Screenshot example below.


    In regard to the underline option, unfortunately it isn't offered on this platform. The question has been raised about it though, I'll copy the response below.

    This is not a feature we are likely to introduce to our editor. We want to make sure we encourage users to follow web best-practices and it is highly recommended to reserve underlined text for links on the web.

    Hey Shaz, I had a meeting with your account manager this morning and raised some of the points from our conversation re: images.

    The good news is there is some work planned on their end regarding image sizing including the ability to resize which is planned for release. The tentative timeframe at the moment is roughly in 2-3 dev cycles which will put it in the first few months of the new year.
