Import a Payroll iif file from Crystal Payroll

I am trying to import a payroll iif file from Crystal Payroll. Crystal creates the iif file and according to information Reckon sent to Crystal once the file is uploaded it should create a journal entry.

When I do the import, Reckon flashes a bit on screen without any messages, but then I can't find anything to verify that the import has occurred. I can't find any journal entry and the accounts which should have been affected if the journal was posted have not changed.

Reckon Support have told me they do not support importing of transactions in any format. I am tearing my hair out, so would love some advice. Thanks.

    Hi karenw

Is there a reason why you’re not using the payroll feature within Hosted ? 🤔

I don’t have much involvement with 3rd party data importing but there’s detailed info within the program Help files that may assist.

Click on Help (along top toolbar) then on Reckon Accounts Help in the dropdown menu. On the Search tab, type in “Importing external IIF

Payroll in Reckon for NZ is no longer available (from 1 April 2022) and although we didn't use it, it didn't fully comply with NZ law regarding holiday pay etc.

Inquisitive to know who adviced to use Crystal report writer .

And is crystal payroll fully working for you and meeting the NZ holiday laws .

    I thought NZ got PaySauce

Paysauce was pushed by Reckon but it is significantly dearer than Crystal Payroll. Crystal does meet the NZ holiday laws, and so far seems simple enough to use.

You need a import tool using Reckon NZ API.

I am not sure if NZAPI/SDK

is available and up to date.

This will fix your issue and cost effective solution

Who told you that you could import an iif file from Crystal. Ive never heard of this software. I'd suggest going back to the vendor.

    Hi @karenw

The first place I'd start is to ensure that the IIF file that you're attempting to import is in the right format that Reckon Accounts Hosted can read it.

There's good breakdown on the required IIF format in Hosted's in-product help directory, just type in 'IIF' or 'import data' and you'll find it there.
