STP - change from desktop to hosted

Previously I had used a desktop version with a username and password to Gov Connect to submit the STP. We have now changed over to Hosted. When I finish the pay run, it exports the file and then opens Gov Connect. I enter the username and password that I had with the desktop version. Go to upload a file, I have to find the file. Click to upload and nothing happens. Am I missing a step now or is it because I have essentially two usernames and passwords. Do I need to sync the two programs?

    Hi @ReckFF

There's a couple of things you'll need to do.

First, you'll need to add Reckon Accounts Hosted as a product selection to your STP entity. You can do that by clicking Add Products, tick Reckon Accounts Hosted and save.

This will create a Reckon Accounts Hosted tile for you to upload your submissions under. (You'll need to click on the Reckon Accounts Hosted tile so its selected)

Secondly, once you've created your STP file in Reckon Accounts Hosted, you'll need to download it so that you can then send it to GovConnect. To do that, all you'll need to do is use the Floating Toolbar in Hosted to download your file from the Q drive to your PC.

I'll add a help video below which outlines how to use the Floating Toolbar to download files from Reckon Accounts Hosted.

    Thank you Rav,

    That solved the problem perfectly.

I thought there had to be a step I was missing.

Hey @Rav , I don’t have to download the STP file to PC, after I click export and save the file it automatically opens the login window to Reckon portal and I login from there. You can then navigate to the Q drive and select

    Hi @Kris_Williams

Yes you're right there is an option for that but I believe that is specific only for Hosted users who login to the Reckon Portal using the same credentials as your Hosted account. Is that the case for you?

No I use different credentials in one of my files, because it was originally for Reckon One, now I login to Reckon Hosted with one set and then export to Gov Connect with the original but different one

Hmm that's interesting, from what I understood it only opened in that way if you use the same credentials on the Reckon Portal as the Hosted account 🤔. I might need to do a bit of testing to understand that process a bit more.

I’m happy to let you login to this particular file and see for yourself, or you can remote to my computer and see

Thanks Kris, will try my accounts out first but if I don't have any joy in replicating then I'll shoot you a PM 😊

    Cheers

@Rav It's not related to the login credentials - It used to be the case that the file needed to be downloaded from Q drive locally, however this changed with product updates, so it now automatically opens the portal - from within the Hosted environment - when the STP Export file is saved.

Note if accessing the Reckon portal independently from Hosted though, the file still needs to be downloaded from Q drive ☺️
