Unable to make system account inactive
Not one things came up in search for this.
I have an account in current assets and because the migration coded it to a system bank a/c, I no longer wish to use it. It isn't a real bank a/c. But I don't seem to be able to make it inactive. A couple on months ago, I made a bank a/c inactive and it worked, but I can't find how I did that.
Can someone help please?

Hi @Jean_10862158 ,
Go to the chart of accounts. Click on assets and then Select the checkbox next to the asset account you wish to delete or mark as inactive. Once selected, you will see options to delete or mark as at the bottom left side of the page. If you choose to mark as and select inactive, then it will be make selected account inactive. Please see the image below for reference:
I hope this helps.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Sorry, there is no checkbox. You can see in your screenshot, the accounts above the one you ticked, do not have check boxes.
For some reason, whatever account is made a system account, does not have a check box. If I had known, I would have only designated one bank account that needs reconciling, but now I am stuck with about 8 that are difficult to deal with because migration chose to make them all system accounts, which includes the one I want to make inactive.
This account (like a suspense a/c) was created so whatever our director spent with the wrong card, I make the supplier be paid by this suspense a/c, and at the end of a period, I would just journal the end balance to his loan a/c.
There is history on this account which is why I just want it made inactive. It isn't used anymore, not since beginning this financial year.

Hi @Jean_10862158 ,
Apologies, in my earlier response I forgot to mention that system created accounts cannot be deleted, which is why you're unable to see a checkbox next to them. As you pointed out, the accounts above the ones I have checked are system accounts, and unfortunately, they do not have checkboxes due to this restriction. Given that the suspense account has been used at one stage and has not been used since, I can understand why you'd prefer to make it inactive rather than delete it. However, unfortunately, at this stage, this is not possible.
Kind regards,
Reeta
