Expenses feature no longer available in NZ
After the recent update a month ago i can't input or access expenses and wondering if anybody else has this issue? I've spent too much time on the phone with support and they can't seem to help. They can't export the expenses for me to reconcile so I'm blind to all expenses i've input. It seems crazy as you have to keep 7 years of records and can be audited on any of these years by IRD still, but all expense data i've input into Reckon One can't be accessed
Reckon One Payroll isn't available in NZ which includes the expenses feature and my region can't be changed. Any help would be much appreciated and am interested to see if this is affecting any others?

Hi @farrowjames
Just to clarify, do you mean the expenses option is not appearing the navigation menu in your book?
Can you let me know which particular upgrade you're referring to? ie. was it a change in your subscription or one of our usual feature upgrades to Reckon One?

Yep it is no longer on the navigation menu on the left and when I do a chart of accounts on my expense account i can't click the expenses to view any detail like i can for bills
i'm not sure what upgrade. i had to change my subscription to 'Accounting Plus' when they did the upgrade. This is copied from a previous Reckon One invoice before the upgrade of my previous subscription:"Our only compulsory module. Take control of your cashflow, GST, budgets, reporting and bank reconciliation. #TheBasics Medium
Use our beautiful templates, or customise for that personal touch. Send on the move from our free mobile app. Lite
Record and bill your whole teams time, for unlimited users. Capture on the go expenses from our free mobile app Lite"
This is what i used to have:

Leave this one with me for a bit and I'll check into what's happened and what our solutions are. The folks I need to speak with have finished up for the week so I'll pick this up again on Monday if that's ok.
Will keep you posted.

Hey @farrowjames
I've had a look into this with a few folks internally and unfortunately, I don't have overly wonderful news to share.
As you've previously alluded to, what’s happened here is related to a restructure of our Reckon One offerings from a module structure to plans that we communicated last year. As part of that change, the expenses feature was moved into the Reckon One payroll plans and we reached out to affected users at the time by email and phone. Unfortunately, payroll isn’t available for Reckon One NZ, which means the expenses feature is no longer accessible in the NZ version.
I completely understand that isn't the ideal outcome and I’m really sorry for the inconvenience it’s caused.
Our product teams continue to review feature availability across regions, and if anything changes down the track, we’ll make sure to communicate it here.

Hi Rav,
Thanks for looking into it. Is there any way to export my expenses data with details from the system? Pdf, spreadsheet or Csv? There must be a way to query the database and get this information to me in some format. I'm mostly interested in the past 2 years
I didn't get a phone call and i can't find anything in my emails

I'm not sure if this is going to work now that you're on the new plan but can you check if you can access the Expense Claim Transactions report by heading into Reports ➡️ Employee Expense ➡️ Expense Claim Transactions Report
I have a feeling its not going to be available but let me know how you go.

I don't have that report. The only expense report i have is the top 10 expense accounts report
This is literally taking me weeks to try to blindly reconcile. Is there any way to export all of my inputted expense data in some form with details instead of just totals? These totals must be calculated off of my original data input so it must be somewhere

I can't make any promises but let me look into it to see if there are any options around this. Will come back to you.

Hopefully you can find them. Below screenshot of reckon website about keeping 7yrs of records - this data is somewhere on the system
