Why isn't my Password being accepted

Hi

I use Reckon Personal Plus 2013 and all of a sudden i can't open my file. Message i get "sorry the password you entered does not match the stored password". I have used this password for years

HELP PLEASE

    Hi @shaque

    There shouldn’t be any reason your file password would suddenly change. A couple of quick things to check:

    • Make sure Caps Lock isn’t on.
    • Make sure there are no spaces before or after the password when typing it in.
    • If you normally use autofill or copy-paste, try typing the password manually.

    Do you know when was the last time you were able to last access the file?

    Are you certain you're accessing the right file and perhaps not an old copy that may have a different password added to it?

    Jason I was able to access file earlier this morning and then later this morning the problem occured. There is another file which uses the same password and that works.

    Eric, thanks but I am accessing right file and I have used the password for donkey's years.

    Hi all.

    Got around the problem by restoring a backup of the file which opened with the existing pw. Only had to re-input 1 week of entries. Shows importance of backing up regularly.
