Getting Home Inventory Manager started for the first time.

Legacy KB ID: 4325

Question

I have installed Reckon (formerly Quicken) Home Inventory Manager following the instructions but whenever I try to start it in Property & Debt, I get the message that Reckon Home Inventory Manager is not installed.  Why?

Answer

It is important that Reckon Home Inventory Manager (QHIM) is installed from:

·         The installation disk choosing Install > Home Inventory Manager, or,

·         By clicking on Qhinstall.exe in the Home Inventory Manager folder under CD:\HAB\Disk1\.

Reckon recommends that User Access Control (UAC) is turned ON.

Before you can use RHIM in Reckon Accounts Personal, you must open it first from the desktop icon or from Start > All Programs > Reckon Home Inventory Manager > Reckon Home Inventory Manager.

You will be prompted to create a file.  Create one.

When the Home Page opens you can click on Go to Reckon Accounts to launch Reckon Accounts.

When you subsequently open Reckon Accounts, you will be able to access RHIM from the Property & Debt menu option.
