ABA file is not picking up the bank name and shows as invalid when uploaded to the bank.

We have been using a payroll clearing account and a real payroll account for quite some time, generating ABA files from both successfully.
Today, the payroll clearing account generated a valid ABA file, however the real bank account did not.
The problem seems to be that the real bank account is leaving off the bank name on the ABA file, so that issue generates an invalid file message when trying to upload to the bank.
Have settings changed in the last few days? I can't see anything differently when I look at the COA information and both accounts are still marked as online enabled.
Thanks,
Marina

Hi Marina
You must be very careful when using 2 bank accounts, for online purposes, if you edit your bank account and go into online bank details, you can only use 1 details for each bank account.
for example, Bank 1 has details for BSB - 111111 A/c - 111111111, and in bank 2 you enter the same details BSB - 111111 A/c - 111111111, then the details in bank 1 will be removed so that bank 2 can use those details.
because the bank 1 details was removed and it is the same account you use to generate the aba file, the bank details may not be included in the creation of the aba file. because those details was moved to bank 2.
let me know how you go with this

Hello Michael,
I can see what you are saying, in that duplicates may cause a problem and will look it over.
My set up was working until last week without any issues and failed yesterday for the first time - it had been set up quite a while ago, using the instructions that were posted in this forum.
I know that I did not change how the accounts were set up, so has RAH changed the function?

Hi Michael,
I had managed this problem by swapping which of the two accounts was enabled for on line access, painful but necessary - but this morning it's not allowing me to take off the Online Account Access tick as shown.
I untick it, close the window, have a look at the chart of accounts list and it shows enabled for online access again.
Would you know what's going on there?

Hi Marina,
Thank you for the post.
How often do you backup your data file?

Hi Lax,
I back up weekly, why's that?

Hello Michael and Lax,
When is this issue going to be fixed, can you advise? I don't think an accounting program should dictate the bank account details I can enter - and it didn't use to do that.
I want to go back to having two accounts in the chart of accounts that are enabled for online banking, and without having to change the settings every time I switch accounts; ie, both function concurrently.
Can we get an update, please? And I am not sure why this issue is showing an status of "solved", when it's not.
Regards,
