Hi. I'm using Reckon Accounts Plus 2015. The GST Payable on my Balance Sheet and the GST to Pay on the Tax Liability Report are way out. This doesn't normall happen, and I can't figure out what is making it so different.
Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Suzanne.  Are you running both reports on the same basis i..e. both of them should be either Cash Accounting or Accrual Accounting?  If one of them is reporting differently, then that will be the reason that they do not match.  John L G

Thanks for the replies. They are both Accruals, and both dated as of September 30 2015.

HI Suzanne.  It would seem that something might have either gone into the tax account or vice versa, which shouldn't have happened.  In any event, in order to try and isolate the problem I would suggest that you break your reports down to a week at a time e.g. 1/9/15 to 7/9/15 and compare them and then try and work out in which week the problem occurs.  If you get to that point in being able to isolate the particular week, the next step would be to break down the reports to a daily basis.

The only other method would be to say look through through your tax account to try and see whether you can pick up an abnormal entry.  My first option though is to do weekly and then daily reports, because that will definitely isolate the exact period which has the problem.  John L G
