BAS Discrepancy

My  'Tax Liability Report', 'Tax Summary Report' and Tax Detail Report' all match perfectly however when I print the BAS Lodgement form I have a discrepancy in the Total Sales (G1) and GST on Sales (1A) of the same value when compared to the reports.

Can you please give me any ideas as to what is going wrong here.

Thank you in advance

Hi Tina I would first check total income on your profit and loss and make sure you have tax codes on all the transactions that should have tax codes.

Also check that the tax codes selected for inclusion on the BAS lodgement form (ie: perhaps a GST-P for instance has been introduced recently,m and not included in the range of codes considered by the BAS lodgement form template),  include all the active/used tax codes you're using.  Plus check if there are any accruals, suspense or journal type entries affecting the P&L content, as part of what Simon has suggested above.

    Hi Tina,
Unfortunately this frequently happens to me too and I cannot explain it, but they will both be out by the same amount.
When this happens, I override the BAS report figures (which you can do) with those that appear in my reports. At least I know if there is ever a discrepancy maybe back the other way that I have a consistent approach for if I were to be audited.
    Kind regards,
