Hi Marilyn,

Before you open it, please try to right click on the file, go to Properties, in the General tab, untick the check box for Read-only. Then you can try to open it.

Hi Deny, I have tried that but it does not work

Please advice what Reckon program you are running:  Hosted, Desktop or some Personal product,  and what year/version.

AND:  What operating system and network setup are you running on.

It is possible that the file is read-only because of some other USER-LOGON credentials or previous logged in administrator,  or some DOMAIN user login user having created the file with only full access by said other person or administrator.

In case nobody answers you, quickly, or if we fail to see you reply, and in case we've quesssed properly here,  some suggestions include,:

a)  Perhaps somebody has recently installed or moved files around,  logged in as a person/user with greater privileges
b)  Perhaps you have a multi-user network scenario and you're trying to play with some file that is on a server somewhere, and that file has not been given access to your own login credentials (I'm talking Windows logins here,  not Reckon BOOKS login)

Explore a couple of those possibilities
