Can POS be used to track samples taken by customers "on appro"?

One of my customers (an interior design store) are looking for the best way to track fabric samples and accessories taken home by their customers "on appro". There is no $$ amount recorded for these so no real sale to record. Currently using Reckon Premier 2013, still deciding whether to use POS.

    Hello Miranda,

    The best way to handle this situation is create an invoice for the item on approval and mark it as “Pending” – Edit > Mark Invoice as Pending.

    To view a list of transactions marked as Pending, Reports > Sales > Pending Sales.

    When the item is returned you can delete the pending invoice.
