Can't make adjustment

I'm using the Single Touch Payroll. The first time I used it, I entered an incorrect value ... basically put the decimal point in the wrong place. I tried to correct this almost immediately. This was accepted and about a month later get a message to say it was rejected by the ATO with an error message as per the attached. I have contacted the ATO and they said they have no notice of an adjustment and the rejection was not from them but must be a software issue.
I have tried to make an adjustment with a negative value to correct the mistake but I get an error message saying I can't have a negative YTD value even though the adjustment value is less than the original amount so the message can't be correct. Since this was the first run, I have tried a later date for the adjustment in case the adjustment negative value was accrued before the incorrect positive value.
Please help!
