Cant Open Existing Reckon QDF data File after Licence Renewal

I have just renewed my annual licence for Reckon Personal Plus 2017 and received Reckon acknowledgement to this effect. I have tried to open my Reckon software checking "I am already a Reckon Accounts user" followed by checking "Open a file located on this computer". I have attempted to open the last active QDF data file I had been using prior to renewal but that returns a message "could not open the file". How do I solve this?

    I had to open my last backup which fortunately  I had done before renewing, however you may get a better solution.
    Cheers,

    Hello Colnol,

    Welcome to the Reckon Community.

    Are you able to open the sample file from C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Sample\sample1.qdf?
    Are you then able to open your preferred file?

    If the problem persists, it may be because of a number of reasons:
    1. The datafile name is longer than 8 characters (even though you were able to open the long filename previously);
    2. You recently upgraded Quicken and your datafile is not on the local hard disk - for example it may be on an External drive, USB stick or a Network drive;
    3. You have moved the datafile from another computer;
    4. The datafile has some corruption.
    Please see the suggested solutions in this article.

    regards,
    John.

    I am suggesting to try "Long Path Tool" program.
