Cant upgrade Quicken Personal Plus 2011 to 2103

I currently have Quicken 2011 Personal Plus installed on my old PC. I purchased a new PC and wanted to transfer the application and data, but was unable to as I don't have the original CD.  It was a purchased Upgrade back in 2011.  
Support was unable to help and said I needed to upgrade to 2013.  So I downloaded Quicken Personal Plus 2013 as a trial and I am happy to use it.
I went to pay the upgrade but the only option I have is to buy it outright or pay a yearly licence fee.
Why do I feel I am being blackmailed into buying a new version when I have bneen using this program since 2004. (I have that CD).
What can I do?
