Change of ABN

Hi Reckon Team,

I have registered my Company for the STP with Reckon, but I set up my account using the wrong ABN and information. The Tax Office has advised that they're unable to change this information and I need to request this change through Reckon instead. 

Currently my account is registered with the below information:

Ed The Carpenter PTY

ABN: 87156238685

However, I'm unable to process the pay runs correctly due to the incorrect name and ABN I registered with. I need to change this information to the below:  

Ed The Carpenter (for the Sheridan-Ferrie Trust)

ABN: 96560351463

Is this something you can help me with?

Hi Ed,
Ordinarily I'd be able to delete the ABN registration so that you can start over but because there have been submissions sent for this, I can't do that. (We can't remove ABN's that have had submissions made).

Can you confirm that the submissions you've made in the app all resulted in 'Error' status?
Did you register the Software ID with the ATO for this incorrect ABN?

Yes, all the submissions I've made have resulted in the Error status. They are submitted to the ATO but then declined several days later. 
I registered the Software ID with the ATO, but used the ABN for the entity rather than my company ABN where everything is paid through. Nothing works through the ABD I've currently registered with. 

Can the account be deleted and a new one created with the correct ABN and details?

There are a couple of options here.
The first is, you can create a brand new app account under a different email address and register your correct ABN.

The second option is for our app & payroll devs to look at how the incorrect ABN can be removed from your existing app account. For that though, can you please confirm what the error messages are that you've received for the submission sent under the incorrect entity.

Below are screenshots of the error message that I receive against all submissions. I'm not sure if there's a way to see more details of the error message, so hopefully they help.

I'd prefer not to see up a new account as I only have the one email address that I use.

Thanks Ed, and no problem I can organise this for you.

One requirement however before the team can initiate any action is written & signed consent sent to us. It will need to contain your full name, incorrect ABN registered to the app, app account email address and a brief description of what has happened ie. essentially exactly what you've outlined in your opening post.
If you can shoot that through to me at community@reckon.com and let me know when you've done that I'll get the ball rolling.

Hi Rav

I have a client who has the same problem - the app picked up the incorrect ABN and they are getting the same messages as above.  Can we do the same as ed and email you a consent to correct the ABN?

Sure thing but can you please create a separate thread because I need more information before sending through the written consent ie. if the Software ID was registered for the incorrect ABN with the ATO, what the error messages are they've received for any sent submissions (if any) and details of the app account & ABN etc.

Hi Ed,
Just getting back to you on this. I've just received confirmation from the devs that the ABN has been removed from your account.
What you'll need to do now is logout of the app (Settings section > Logout) and then swipe it away from your running apps and leave it for a few minutes. Log back in and it should take you through registering the ABN again.
