Change order of transaction

I would like to change the order of transactions that have been entered for a specific day.
The reason for this is that I like to be able to cross-reference the balance with my bank statement so that I know I haven't missed anything, otherwise it makes it take me a lot longer to find any mistakes.

Is this something that already exists, or can this be a feature request?
It would be great to be able to drag/drop a transaction to change it's date or order.

I'm using Reckon Accounts Personal Plus  2020 Trial Release R1 and am hoping to find this software sufficient for my continued use as a paying customer.

Not sure if this is the one you are looking for? - Have you tried View, (top right, near Reports and Options?

    Dear Jayden
As you have not defined the exact ordering you have in mind for your transactions, have a go at this ... Open your register (transaction) view of an account, click on the 'View' option on the right hand side of the register and select the viewing option you desire from the list provided e.g. 'Sort by Date/Order entered' or 'Sort by Order entered' ...

    regards

    Andrew

I'd like this feature also. It would be useful if you have multiple transactions on the same date and you would like your register to reflect what is in the bank statement. Drag and drop or move up or down would be ideal. I was looking for this feature just the other day.

    Dear All,
How does your bank list account transactions? Randomly, credits first, debits second or vice versa?
How does it list multiple credits and debits on same day - time entered, time received by the bank and debited / credited by the bank? Do you know if this is the same sequencing employed by all financial institutions?

If you want to move your register transactions try the 'cut' and 'paste' options

    Hi Fred,

I have checked the options under view however the closest I can get is sorted by date / order entered.

What I am hoping to do is regardless of the order entered, control which order the transactions will appear in for a given date, with the ability to change this order if required. In this way I can make it match my statements from my bank, which aren't always in the same order as when I have entered them due to it taking a couple of days for transactions to process and then my bank seems to like using the clear date rather than the transaction date for my statements.

    Hi Andrew,

Apologies for the delay in responding. I have added some additional details in my response just now to Fred. Cheers.

My previous bank would list the transactions based on their transaction date & time.
My current bank seems to list the transactions according to when they clear.
This means that a transaction completed today will appear in my online banking, and I usually enter this into Reckon, but then some transactions take a day or two to clear with the store that I purchased something from. This then changes the date in my online banking (and bank statement) to the date it cleared.

It is not really ideal and I am not sure why my bank does this as I preferred the way my previous bank displayed transactions. I am hoping Reckon can provide a solution to help make it easier for anyone that might be in my situation by allowing drag/drop or setting some kind of order aside from the ordered it was entered in.

In a previous application (kMyMoney) I was able to get around this by using the check number field and sort by date & check number. I would re-use check numbers starting from 1, 2 etc. to force it to display in the order I required. I'm not sure if I can or should be doing that with Reckon though?
