We exported employee data from Payroll Premier to Reckon Accounts Premier. The program set the employees' original start dates as the export date. How do I change the original start date to the actual start date?

    Hi Brad,

Edit the employee record in the Reckon Accounts Premier data file.

Change the tab from "Personal Info" to the "Employment Info" tab.

In the Employment section you can change the Hire date.

    Hi Brad,

We have not seen this issue before that you have described of employee details exported from Reckon Payroll Premier, being imported into Reckon Accounts Premier, resulting in a value in the Original Hire Date field.

Typically when a field is not accessible, it would not be user editable and values there are the result of other previous actions undertaken on the file.

Did you make a backup of your Reckon Accounts Premier data file, prior to importing the data from Payroll Premier?

Do you still have the original QPExportXX.IIF file?

    Are all employees affected?

Recommend you submit a data service request and send those files so we can investigate further.

Send the IIF file from Payroll Premier,
Send the backup of the Reckon Accounts Premier data file, prior to the import occurring.
Send the backup of the current Reckon Accounts Premier data file, after the import was done.

    Hi Data recovery employee

This is the case with all my current and previous Accounts business range - everyone of them has had the original start date & adj date greyed, and not ever been able to use them.

Even now if I create a new employee in 'enterprise' 2018 I cannot chose the original start date or the adj service date. My only choices are 'hire date' 'release date'

Brad is right and it isn't anything to do with importing list.

The problem indicated by Brad is:

"We exported employee data from Payroll Premier to Reckon Accounts Premier.
The program set the employees' original start dates as the export date. "

Export of employee data from Payroll Premier and the subsequent import into Reckon Accounts Premier means that an export/import procedure was done.

The "Original Hire Date" and "Adjusted Service Date" looks related to the Termination function and re-hire which may not be part of the functionality of the Australian version of the "Employee Organiser" feature in Reckon Accounts.

If you submit a request and the files we can take a look to see if we can assist further or make the appropriate recommendation.

We corrected the "Original Hire Date" and "Adjusted Service Date" for all employees by manually "rehiring" each employee using the "Manage Employee Information" function.

We selected "Hire Employee", then chose "Edit [employee name]".

At the "Employment" page, we entered the new date and answered "Yes" in the "Rehire" drop-down.

Once we completed the process, the correct date was applied to the employee record.
