Chart of accounts importing

If I import an revised chart of accounts with no opening balances over an existing chart of accounts will the affect any existing balances?

    No! But be aware that importing cannot update the Account Type, Account Name or "SubAccount Of" fields for existing records as they are key fields.

    is it possible to remove the account numbers and import back - does the account number disappear.
