Cisco AnyConnect does not work with RDP for ELS upload

Windows 10 is only compatible with the newer Cisco "AnyConnect" , which creates a VPN link with ATO for ELS uploads. The previous "Cisco VPN client" is only compatible with earlier versions of Windows. The problem is that the ATO seem to have have turned off split tunelling for the new "AnyConnect" VPN servers, which disables uploads while using remote RDP access. I am unhappy because we have lost our ability to lodge tax returns with laptops when away from the office.

Is it worth trying to fix this, or will the new PLS use a different connection method that is compatible with remote access?

I have found the same issue.

I also noticed Tax Forms 2017 are not able to be lodged with PLS which we have transitioned to.

How are you getting around this at the moment?

Reckon have advised me PLS is not fully functional yet - I was hoping it might fix this problem.

At the moment we have to drive back to the office and physically login to the computer which has the Reckon database.

This wastes a lot of time and money. Some of our clients are in the country.

Thanks for your response.
To work around your problem try an app like TeamViewer or logmein to log onto a desktop in your office perhaps.
I'm also finding that to use ELS I need to run as administrator.

Yes, I was thinking exactly the same thing.

Not done yet because of a few small security issues in the "normal" application of Teamviewer... leaving the computer logged in with the access codes ready to go and/or screen visibile to others while using it.  The good thing about RDP was that it was not visible on the Reckon PC, and already built in to Windows 10 Pro for one user.

But there appear to be some promising Teamviewer features which might fix this :

Shouldn't be any security issue as team viewer has unattended access features. You just need to setup and know the login details which you obviously would.

I use it all the time with clients.

Yes, I see this feature on Teamviewer web site.

Thanks for your help Michael.

Just found this..

Looks like we are not the only ones. AnyConnect just simply will not work with Windows 10 RDP because the  ATO servers are not enabling split tunneling. The only problem is that the ATO knew about this over a year ago...
