Crash when printing payment summaries on Windows 10

I'm having trouble with Accounts Premier 2016 crashing when I try to print or email our employee payment summaries. After selecting the employees clicking Preview, Print or OK (when emailing) causes QB to immediately crash. It seems to be an issue with printer as the error report always ends with:

CHECKPOINT: Tue Jul 05 11:04:30 LoadOrAdaptPrinter() FetchPrinterFromCFG().....client.cpp (846) :  CHECKPOINT: Tue Jul 05 11:04:30 LoadOrAdaptPrinter() Ret(1)..client.cpp (732) :  CHECKPOINT: Tue Jul 05 11:04:30 GetAnyPrinter() after LoadOrAdaptPrinter() ret(1)..client.cpp (737) :  CHECKPOINT: Tue Jul 05 11:04:30 GetAnyPrinter(), thePrinter->Validate()..client.cpp (766) :  CHECKPOINT: Tue Jul 05 11:04:30 GetAnyPrinter(), an error has occured. delete invalid printer...

However, I have no problems printing invoices and reports or saving as PDF. I have a couple of network printers (one of which is the default) as well as Reckon PDF, Windows PDF and Nitro PDF all installed.

System is Windows 10 Pro with Accounts Premier 2016. We use multi-user mode but I have tried using admin account in single user mode and same result.

Hi Rhys,

It could be attributed to a corrupt employee or employee pay.

First step, are you able to print just one payment summary with success? Ie. does the error only occur when you have selected multiple/all employees?

It happens when any number of employees are selected and with any individual employee. Empdupe works ok.

Hi Rhys,

Please delete the printer files at:
C:\Users\All Users\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 2016, and
C:\Program Data\Intuit\ReckonAccounts 2016.

and try again.

regards,
John

Hi John,

There was no file in the ProgramData folder however, I deleted the file C:\Users\All Users\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 2016\QBPRINT.QBP and the issue was resolved.

Thanks for the help, Rhys
