If you have a damaged transaction such as a bill, cheque, invoice, journal, etc that causes the program to crash when you attempt to view it (such as double-clicking the transaction from within a report) try the following:
1) In the Reckon Accounts program, on the menu bar click on the Edit menu and select Use Register
2) Select the appropriate account which would contain that transaction.
- if the transaction is a cheque or journal, select the Bank account, Asset or Liability account
- if the transaction is a bill, select the Accounts Payable account
- if the transaction is an invoice, select the Accounts Receivable account
and so on...
3) Once you are in the account register, locate the specific transaction and highlight it (do not double-click to attempt to view it or it will crash the program)
- use the Date, Number, Customer/Supplier/Payee and amount to identify the correct transaction
- click on that transaction line (a single click only to highlight it)
- once highlighted press together the CTRL and D keys on the keyboard (CTRL+D)
- accept the confirmation that the transaction will be deleted
4) You will then need to re-enter that transaction based on other information you may have available such as paper records, etc.
