We recommend that you first go through a troubleshooting session with the Reckon Accounts Technical Support team before you submit a data file for analysis.

Once you have been advised by the Technical Support Team to submit a data service request you can do so by clicking the link below.

Submit a request for a Reckon data service

In your service request you will need to:

- describe the problem as accurately as you can

- provide the sequence of steps you are performing that results in the error

- provide specific examples of any records that are affected where possible

- provide the complete exact text of error messages that may arise

Send us the Reckon Payroll Premier company data file (QPW) for analysis.

Your Reckon Payroll Premier data file set would be comprised of
multiple files with the same name with different file extensions.

<Filename>.<file extension>

Example file names:

My Company File.QPW – this is the main data file component which you need to send us

My Company File –the main data file component may also appear without the QBW file extension

My Company File.SCN – this is supplementary file you do not need to send

My Company File.QPB – this is a backup file

My Company File.CMP – this is a backup file company settings file

My Company File.INI – this is a backup file configuration file

Your Payroll Premier data file would be stored in the “DATA” folder:

Click on the My Computer icon on your desktop (if present) and go to the main hard disk drive where the payroll program is installed.

Locate the QPROLLVXX folder where the payroll program is installed (where XX represents the version)

  • V26 = 2017
  • V27 = 2018
  • V28 = 2019
  • V29 = 2020

Locate the DATA subfolder, there you can find the file that requires the password removal service

Example: C:\QPROLLV28\DATA

Once you have found the correct data file that you want to send us, follow the steps below.

We recommend that you provide a copy of a good older backup if once is available.

If you have any good older backup files from a time when the problem was not yet occurring, this can assist in the repair process and may allow for faster repairs at less cost.
