EMAIL error - either there is no default mail client or the current mail client

PLEASE HELP! Using an old version of QB that no one can seem to help with! We had to upgrade our outlook now I can't send any invoices from QB....

error - either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. please run microsoft outlook and set it as the default mail client

Hi Claire,
Which version of Reckon Accounts are you running and also which version of Outlook?

I've found a KB related to the particular message you're receiving which might be of help -
Error: there is no default email client.... when sending an email through Outlook 2010 64-bit

outlook 2016 
QuickBooks Plus 2008/09 Full RSK IKC

Tried the link but it won't let me change / un tick the "use my current email program" to see if this is the issue

I can send normal emails, just none from QB

Hi,

Not sure if you are still having the issue, but I found setting both my quickbooks and outlook programs to "Administrator" fixed the issue.

Close both your programs, then;

Right click on the desktop icon
click on "Properties"
click on "Compatibility" tab
under settings, click on "Run this program as an administrator" to tick it
click on "apply"
click on "ok'

Do this for both your quickbooks and outlook programs, then reopen them and try sending an email from quickbooks and see if that works?
