Hi - I just tried to lodge an EmpDupe file and got his error message from the ATO:  "Reason: Please contact your software developer. The file size is not a correct multiple of the record length."   Every other years it's worked.  Does anyone know what this error message refers to?

Hi Simon
Reckon Accounts Hosted 2018 R2.
This is the first year that I have used branch numbers in the Tax Rego ID section under Company Identification...what that make a difference?

I have the same message for 2018 and my 2017 failed to lodge as well.  I have too many to handwrite for 2018. Please help. I'm using the current 2018 version. Thanks

Hi Yvonne,

You can lodge the Empdupe from both the 2017 and 2018 versions of Reckon Accounts.

A common cause of the error "The file size is not a correct multiple of the record length" is that the Branch number hasn't been entered as a three digit number.

Click Company Menu > Company Information and in the field on the right of the Tax Rego ID field, make sure you have the branch number entered as 001 or 002 etc.
