Easy; just set up either 2 pay rates or 2 payroll items with the different rates; if you're using classes then class them differently and tick the box follow by class.

    Do it all the time

I have figured out to put in 2 different pay rates, but still not worked out how to have more than one class for an employee.  There only seems to be the option to select one class per employee - or am I missing an obvious step?

OK to Edit>Preferences>Payroll & Employees>Company preferences>around the middle there is job costing etc select one class per earnings item (rather than entire pay cheque)
