I have Reckon Accounts Premier Edition 2014 running on Windows 10. I am unable to email invoices, but I can print them. When I try to email I get the following messages:

1. Printer not activated, error code 20
2. Could not print to printer. Check your printer selection. printing may have been canceled from another program
3. Reckon accounts could not save your form as a PDF file.
Solution: do one of the following
    Try saving the form again
Close all other open programs and then try to save the form again.
If the form does not display correctly in Print Preview, this could indicate a printing problem.

I am not really computer savvy, and this is driving me crazy.

Hi June, welcome to the Reckon Community.

Unfortunately Reckon Accounts 2014 is not fully compatible with Windows 10 so you may encounter errors performing certain tasks/activities.

A common remedy which has proven successful for a number of users is to run the program with Administrator privileges.

There is a step by step guide on this from a fellow Community member John Graetz on this thread which may help

Give it a try and please let me know how you get on

one way to overcome for now

    1. download and install Cute PDF Writer (free)
    2. click Print on your invoice and choose Cute PDF Writer as the printer
    3. email the resulting pdf invoice to your customer

    Thanks Anton,
because this is a work computer, I'm a bit worried about downloading anything onto it.
I can print the invoices already, just can't email them.
Sorry if I sound unknowledgeable (I am), but if I download this new programme how will it enable me to email?
    Thanks,
    June

Hi June.  That is disappointing to hear.  I have used the ?exact? approach that was detailed in the link, for more than one windows 10 computer and so have others.  The only other conclusion is, as Rav suggested, that the 2014 version is not compatible with Windows 10.  Upgrading to the 2016 version will obviously solve the problem completely, now that 2016R101 version is available.
The approach that Anton has suggested is another work around, but it means that you have to create your own PDF for each invoice and give it a name and save it, so that you can then email the created PDF as an attachment.  Depending on how many invoices you email, an upgrade to the latest version would suggest to me that it will save you a lot of time and effort, now that the earlier problem with the 2016 version has been fixed.  John L G

    Thanks for your reply John.
I think we will have to consider upgrading to the 2016, we have too many invoices to create a PDF for each. The other option that we are using now is printing all the invoices up and scanning them, then emailing them.
    Kind regards
    June
