I'm installing Reckon Accounts Enterprise 2014

After selecting the industry-specific suite I receive this error:

"An error occurred while attempting to reconfigure your new edition of QuickBooks. You must temporarily return to your previous edition by reinstalling it from the original CD. When prompted, please enter the installation code printed on the CD case."

I've followed the applicable  steps on this website with no luck:

Thanks very much.

Frank

    Hi Frank,

Thank you for your post in our community.

The installation couldn't access the required registry keys to update hence you get this error.

I'd request you to backup your files and do a clean removal of all Reckon Accounts installation.
    Follow this KB: http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=331

After it's completed, turn on Built-in Admin and install RA 2014 in Selective Start up mode by logging in as that as built in admin.

KB for turn on built in Admin: http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=3786
    KB for Selective Startup:http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=152

After installation is completed, run RA and register your industry type and activate the product.
You should also follow the Selective Startup doc to turn off this mode which is at the end of the article.

Once completed, follow the built in Admin KB to turn off the Admin account. Use it only for troubleshooting purposes.

    See if that helps.

If the above doesn't work, below article should solve it. It requires editing registry, unless you're confident, please consult an IT to do it for you.

I hope the above helps. Please do let us know how you go.

    Cheers,
