Estimate Discount

Hi,
have been using reckon one for a while now. One thing I have noticed is that there seems to be no way to add discounts to an estimate? I understand that I could just change the item price however I'd just like to apply a dollar amount or percentage discount to the whole estimate.
Thanks!

We do many jobs for not-for-profit organisations and as such we often have a foxed budget. Would prefer to be able to leave book prices for all items in the system and then just discount the whole estimate to the price required.

Set up an Item and call it Discount.
The amount will be deducted from your income. Plus you will be able to keep an account of how much you are discounting over the year/time period.
Once you have set up the item, you will be able to select and apply this to the entire estimate, once the agreed price has been secured.
It will also show as an adjustment on the estimate - if you require it to.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I've been having the same issue and i can't seem to be able to get a Discount Item to work, there doesn't seem to be a way for me to make the value deduct from the estimate? I must be missing something
Thanks,
Alex

@Alex, I believe the response from @Julie assumed the product in question was Reckon Accounts & not Reckon One.
In Reckon One you would use the markup column for any markups or discounts.
A positive markup $ or % amount is treated as a markup.
A negative markup $ or % amount is treated as a discount.
@Sam, there isn't a global estimate option, you would have to apply the discount (negative markup) to each line on the estimate.

@Qwerty
Thanks for the clarification.
Yeah, the negative markup is useful for an internal system of per item discounts. However my industry often expects to be able to show long time clients or sub hires % discounts. It'd be great to be able to create a discount item that had a negative amount, for a pretty simple feature i think it'd help quite a few people out and without it I'd struggle to recommend Reckon one to others in the entertainment industry.
Thanks for the help

Glad this was raised by Sam and Alex. I have been using the markup discount column but this gets removed when I send the estimate. I want my client to see the discount that I have applied, so agree with Alex and Sam. This should be added to Reckon One as these little things matter a great deal to our clients.1
